Enlightenment Movies

Movies with Spirit Given Commentary
“Sharing enlightenment movies with others over the years has been amazing,” says David Hoffmeister. “Spirit comes through me with movie set-ups and commentary about the deeper messages and the symbols within the films that really ‘hit home.’ I have gotten wonderful feedback and responses.
I remember an elderly couple who had never seen The Matrix. Based on the movie trailers they were not sure they wanted to see it. But they came to one of my movie gatherings and I gave a thorough set-up of the metaphysics and the context, and explained how helpful watching this movie could be. As we watched the movie, I paused frequently and gave inspired commentary. At the end they said, ‘We are so glad we watched it with you because you were a guide for us.’ They had big smiles on their faces and felt fulfilled. Watching enlightenment movies for healing is a gift for the heart and mind!”

Awakening Movies

A New Way to Watch Movies
David Hoffmeister says about awakening movies, “Spirit showed me techniques for watching movies in a new way—not as entertainment or escapism, but as a way in which people could allow intense emotions to arise for healing. When I hold movie gatherings, I don’t show movies straight through because they can trigger memories and emotions that have been repressed and denied. I pause the film when people have these intense emotions come up so that we can be present with whatever is arising for healing in the moment.

It’s important to realize that the subconscious has to come up. We welcome the feelings so that they can be released for healing, and a new perspective can come in. When invited, Spirit provides a safe presence for the subconscious to arise without any judgment. It is beautiful to join with people in this heart-to-heart way. That is one of my big messages. Awakening movies can open the mind to a more expansive awareness of our True Nature and Identity.”

Best Spiritual Movies

Awakening with the Movies
David Hoffmeister uses the best spiritual movies as modern-day parables. Jesus shared his profound wisdom, light, and love through the use of parables. He taught from a fishing boat, from the mount, during meals, or anywhere he was amongst people. He was a public mystic; his was a ministry that demonstrated the Christ. Jesus used parables because he wanted people to be able to relate to his teachings.

David uses movies as teaching demonstrations because people can relate to them; while watching a movie they can relax and let their hearts open up. Watching movies is an enjoyable way to wake up and heal. It is not as threatening as being, for example, in a family situation or confrontational relationship. The best spiritual movies can help to “collapse time” in the sense that they can be used to get in touch with the unconscious in an experiential way.
